SMK Payangan Training Center will strive to be a role model using clean energy; hydro electricity, solar power, waste-water treatment, organic gardening, recycling and environmentally-friendly building methods. While most tourism ventures in Bali are owned by multinationals and profits are repatriated overseas, all profits from the PEP Training Center will be spent on improving student learning, maintaining the facility and supporting the local community. As the training center will be built on school land, no agricultural land will be lost to tourism. To counter environmental, social, and cultural problems that often emerge with tourism, PEP will be a small-scale, low-density and an eco-friendly training facility. The staff and students at SMK Payangan lack the capital required to develop the necessary infrastructure and the required transport facilities for the training center. For that reason, we're seeking your support. |
